The screening provides a quick look at how children are doing in important areas, such as communication, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving, see Milestone Checklists. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that ALL children, regardless of concern, are screened using a standardized, validated developmental screening tool. We invite you to participate in the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. If there is a concern, early intervention leads to the best outcome for your child.
To begin the questionnaire, contact the Cudahy Health Department at 414-769-2239 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving "bye bye" are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (crawling, walking, etc.)
