Fire Department Update

Good morning.

In light of the current increase in positive COVID-19 tests throughout Milwaukee County, as a proactive measure the Cudahy Fire Department is implementing additional safety measures to limit the risk of exposure to our staff and those we serve.

The purpose of this communication is to let you know if things appear to be a little different as you drive by one of the firehouses, you will know why.

Effective immediately the following additional safety protocols are now in place:

  •  CFD Command staff will be working from strategic locations.
  • We may shift personnel between Fire Station 1 and Fire Station 2 to ensure we have minimum staffing levels to respond to a fire or other large-scale emergency.
  •  We are prepared to utilize mutual aid with our neighboring Fire Departments if necessary.  Cudahy Fire Chief Dan Mayer has been in communication with both South Milwaukee and St. Francis fire departments informing them of the heightened protocols.

These new safety protocols will be in place until further notice.

Here is what has NOT changed - In an emergency, please do not hesitate to call 911. We will respond.
