Green Infrastructure is a rapidly growing construction technique that is used to reduce pollutant loading in storm water discharge and retain/capture rainfall during smaller events. Not only does this form of construction provide a benefit to the environment, it also helps municipalities meet their storm water permit requirements and typically has grant funding available for construction. Green Infrastructure has even become a requirement for developers to put in specific amounts based on the quantity of impervious surfaces being installed through MMSD Chapter 13 rules and regulations.
