Cudahy School Resource Officers Mission Statement

Neighborhood Block Watch

The Neighborhood Block Watch is a group of concerned citizens, who along with community leaders and the police department, share information and ideas to make their neighborhoods safer, more enjoyable places to live.

The block watch meets on the last Wednesday of every month.

National Night Out

The Cudahy Police Department participates in National Night Out in August. The event disseminates information about crime and drug prevention awareness; generates support for and participation in local anticrime programs; strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and sends a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.  For more information about Cudahy's National Night Out, please contact the Police Department at 414-769-2260.  To learn about the history of National Night Out, visit www.nationaltownwatch.org/nno/index.html.

More than 100 2010 National Night Out in Cudahy photos can be found on the City's Facebook page.  If you're not a fan, become one!

Tips

The Cudahy Police Department participates in the Crime Stoppers program.  If your anonymous tip about a crime leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward.  To report a tip for the City of Cudahy, please call 1-866-373-6227.  For more information, visit the Southern Milwaukee County Crime Stoppers website, www.smccs.net/index.htm.

Make-A-Wish Foundation

The Make-A-Wish Foundation began in 1980 with the granting of a "wish" to a child suffering from leukemia.  Since that year, the charity organization has granted wishes to many children living with life threatening medical conditions.  Each child must go through a four-step process to be granted a wish.  For more information, check out the Make-A-Wish Foundation's website, www.wish.org.

Battle of the Badges

The Battle of the Badges has been held twice a year since 2002 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The battles feature annual basketball and softball games between the Cudahy Police and Fire Departments.

Cudahy Auxiliary Officers

Cudahy auxiliary officers are volunteers from the community.
Auxiliary officers:

• Participate in community events such as Sweet Applewood Days, the Fourth of July Parade and Cudahy High School sporting events
• Monitor traffic and provide security at those sporting events
• Provide police officers with useful information regarding criminal activity within the community

Auxiliary officers also have the unique opportunity of riding along with police officers during shifts.

If you would like to become an auxiliary officer or want more information, please stop by the Cudahy Police Department or contact Sgt. Chris Blunt at 414-769-2260 ext. 612.
