Apparatus and Stations

The Cudahy Fire Department maintains a firefighting fleet consisting of three attack pumpers, one 100' aerial ladder, and a Fire Command Unit.  Our Emergency Medical Services fleet consists of two Basic Life Support ambulances and the Fire Command Unit, which is utilized as a reserve ambulance.  Other vehicles and apparatus in our inventory includes a utility vehicle, an inspection vehicle and a dive rescue boat.


Fire Station One is our headquarters and is located at 4626 South Packard Avenue.  This station was built in 1956 and received its' first major update in 2001 with the replacement of the HVAC system, an apparatus floor ventilation system, remodeled office and living quarters, an emergency backup generator and an electrical update.    
    
Fire Station Two is the department's training center and is located at 3115 East Ramsey Avenue.  It was built in 1969.  This station is the location of a three story training tower and two story frame addition.  This station just recently received a partial updating of the heating system and lighting.  A backup generator was installed in 2001.    
    

Engine 1461

This is a 1990 Pierce 1250 gpm pumper.  This unit is utilized for, and equipped as, our Special Operation Unit.  It responds from Fire Station Two.  Besides its' normal firefighting capability, it contains and carries specialized rescue and support equipment.  This engine responds to all incidents involving technical rescue, vehicle extrication or haz-mat operations.

    
    

Engine 1462

This is a 1982 Mack 1250 gpm pumper.  This unit responds from Fire Station Two and is utilized for initial fire attack. It is equipped with the standard equipment required by the NFPA.  It also carries the department's IRIS Thermal Imager.

    
    

Engine 1463

This is a 2001 Pierce Saber 1250 gpm pumper.  This unit responds from Fire Station One and is also utilized as an initial attack pumper. It is equipped with the standard equipment required by the NFPA.  As you can see, the Cudahy Fire Department is transitioning back to the traditional "Fire Engine" red for its' apparatus colors.

    
    

Truck 1474

This unit is one of the newest in the inventory.  It is a 2006 Seagrave 100 foot ladder with 2000 gpm pump. This unit responds from Fire Station Two and is utilized for initial fire attack to ease the burden on the aging engine 1462. It is equipped with the standard equipment required by the NFPA.

    
    

Ambulance 1487

1487 is a 2007 Medtec unit mounted on a Ford F-450 chassis.  It is configured as an ALS unit with an extended modular box.  This unit responds to EMS incidents from Fire Station One with two EMT-Basics onboard.

    
    

Ambulance 1488

1488 is a 2004 Medtec unit mounted on a Ford F-450 chassis.  It is configured as an ALS unit with an extended modular box.  This unit responds to EMS incidents from Fire Station Two with two EMT-Basics onboard.

    
    

The Fire Department Training Center is located at Fire Station Two, 3115 East Ramsey Avenue.
